The Public Policy Center and NSC are leading the MyCarDoesWhat campaign, created in response to concerns that Americans are uncertain about how important vehicle safety features work—even those that have been standard for years.
NSC CEO and former National Transportation Safety Board Chair Deborah Hersman met with Daniel A. Reed, UI Vice President for Research and Economic Development; Dan McGehee, director of the Transportation and Vehicle Safety Program in the UI Public Policy Center; Omar Ahmad, NADS Director of Operations; and others.
For more than 20 years the UI has conducted original research and development, interdisciplinary research on how automotive technologies, driver behavior and performance and public policy interact. One of Iowa’s areas of focus has been improving technology design through a better understanding of human behavior.
