The Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development is accepting applications for the academic year 2017-2018 Arts and Humanities Initiative program. This program encourages leading edge scholarship, creative activities and interdisciplinary research.
The deadline is Monday, March 27.
Eligibility Guidelines:
At the time of application, all University of Iowa personnel who are tenure-track or tenured faculty, clinical track faculty, research faculty, lecturers, and other staff members for whom research and scholarship are assigned as one of their primary job responsibilities and have at least a 50 percent university appointment during the academic year of the project are eligible to apply for funding.
The award is made to only one individual. Co-principal investigators are not allowed. Adjunct faculty, visiting faculty, postdoctoral fellows or scholars, fellowship trainees, associates, and graduate students are not eligible.
An applicant may appear as principal investigator/project director on only one proposal per application cycle, but may be listed as a collaborator or consultant on other proposals.
Application Programs:
1) Arts and Humanities Initiative Standard Grants–accepts individual or collaborative grant applications up to $7,500.
2) Major Project Grants (Arts and Humanities proposals only)–accepts applications up to $30,000 for funding to conduct preliminary work and/or develop pilot data.
3) Major Conferences/Ideation Meetings (Arts and Humanities proposals only)–accepts applications up to $10,000 in support of conferences, symposia, seminars, colloquia or workshops.
