For campus visitors and locals alike, the Dare to Discover campaign seeks showcase the breadth of research, innovation, and creative works generated by researchers and scholars at the University of Iowa (UI). This is the sixth year for the campaign, and the first year that postdoctoral researchers will be featured alongside students.

“We’re proud to showcase the creativity and ingenuity of UI students and postdoctoral researchers and scholars,” said Marty Scholtz, vice president for research, who started his research career as an undergraduate. “From engineering solutions to generating new knowledge about the universe, UI students are engaged in a wide range of research and scholarly activities that complement their academics and help position themselves to become changemakers in their future careers.”

The online nomination form is open until October 8, 2021.

Nominations of students and postdocs from diverse backgrounds and that represent a range of disciplines, especially the arts and humanities, are encouraged.

Students researchers who are selected for the campaign will be notified late October. The banners will be installed in January 2022 and remain in place through mid-March 2022. The Office of the Vice President for Research sponsors the project.

The Office of the Vice President for Research provides researchers and scholars with resources, guidance, and inspiration to secure funding, collaborate, innovate, and forge frontiers of discovery that benefit everyone. More at http://research.uiowa.edu, and on Twitter: @DaretoDiscover.
