The National Institutes of Health recently announced implementation guidance for its new Data Management & Sharing (DMS) Policy, which requires researchers to prospectively plan for how scientific data will be preserved and shared through submission of a Data Management and Sharing Plan. The NIH DMS Working Group has been preparing for implementing the policy at UI and will host a webinar to present an overview of the DMS policy and answer questions researchers may have about complying with DMS requirements for NIH grant applications with receipt dates on or after January 25, 2023. We encourage you to participate in this important campus conversation:

- Open for questions from campus.
- Register for the webinar.
Representatives from the Division of Sponsored Programs, UI Libraries, the Human Subjects Office, ITS Research Data Services, IT Security, and the Data Governance Task Force will be available to answer questions at the webinar. The Working Group has also developed a Reference Guide and the NIH Data Management and Sharing website to provide implementation guidance to campus.
